Digital Literacy in Asia and Europe

The 2026 edition of the STEAR Summer School will be hosted in collaboration with the ASEAN Youth Organisation (AY0) in Singapore and Bordeaux

This five-day immersive experience will bring together emerging leaders from Europe and Southeast Asia to explore the theme of Digital Literacy through interdisciplinary learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange.

About the Programme

Held simultaneously in Bordeaux and Singapore, the Summer School will examine some of today’s most pressing digital challenges, including:

  • Misinformation and media literacy

  • Cybersecurity

  • Artificial intelligence

  • Digital governance

  • Unequal access to technology

 

Participants will engage in:

  • Expert-led lectures and panel discussions

  • Interactive and hands-on workshops

  • Cross-cultural collaboration and networking

  • Team-based “Dream Projects” with real-world impact

  • Cultural exchange activities and professional visits with institutional partners

Throughout the programme, participants will work in international teams to design innovative and policy-oriented solutions that strengthen digital awareness, critical thinking, and inclusive digital transformation across regions.

The programme is designed for students, young professionals, researchers, and youth changemakers interested in:

  • Technology and innovation

  • International relations

  • Public policy and governance

  • Media and digital literacy

  • ASEAN–EU cooperation

Eligibility

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old

  • Be ASEAN or EU nationals with a strong interest in digital literacy, technology, and public policy
    (Applicants from other nationalities are also welcome to apply)

  • Demonstrate English proficiency at a minimum of CEFR B2 / Upper-Intermediate level

  • Youth currently based in France and Singapore are especially encouraged to apply
